If you’re hosting websites or DNS with GoDaddy, today isn’t a good day for you. GoDaddy isn’t well liked for a number of really good reasons, and Anonymous picked today to let them know.
- Technically, they suck.
- Support for SOPA/PIPA.
- Bunch of misogynists.
Switch to NameCheap today! They are heaps, heaps, heaps better in every instance. We moved all our sites to NameCheap and have way less problems, way better performance, and the icing on the cake is that they’re cheaper!

The real reason GoDaddy went down yesterday is even more embarrassing than being attacked by Anonymous.
The service outage was not caused by external influences. It was not a “hack” and it was not a denial of service attack (DDoS). We have determined the service outage was due to a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables. – Scott Wagner, Go Daddy Interim CEO
